SOHO China - Jianwai SOHO Wins 2006 Business Week/Architectural Record China Awards

We are very delighted to announce that Jianwai SOHO has been named a 2006 Business Week/Architectural Record China Awards winner for its innovative architecture. The awards, founded by Architectural Record and its sister publication Business Week ten years ago, honor architects and clients who work together to create great buildings. This is the first time the awards have honored Chinese architecture.

Sixteen winners from China have shown how "good design is good business”, and Jianwai SOHO is in the “Best Residential Buildings” category. “A city within the city, Jianwai SOHO combines high rise residential buildings, commercial space, shops, parking, and landscaped courtyards to create a sophisticated, mixed-use complex near the Tonghui River”, according to a feature article in the latest issue of Architectural Record. “We hope the BW/AR China Awards will become an important record of the best architecture in China and encourage clients to employ design as a powerful tool in establishing their brand identities, expressing their goals, and organizing their work forces”, says Clifford Pearson, Deputy Editor in Chief of Architectural Record.

The construction of Jianwai SOHO started in 2000 and the last phase will be completed in 2007.
